Objectives and Goals
- We will correctly identify the advantages and disadvantages of different types of radiations.
- We will explore a career in the field of electromagnetic radiation.
- We will connect the length of a wavelength to its potential energy and harm.
Essential Questions
- How dangerous are electromagnetic waves to humans?
- Should we be concerned with the new technological advances of today?
Lesson Format
This lesson is designed to take approximately 4 days (140 minutes) and can be completed entirely online. The format will be either completed with your instructor or on your own. For this lesson, you’ll participate in group work activities through discussion boards, do a Gallery Walk and independent work through reading, screencasting, and note taking, and an end-of-lesson summary.

- Article and ER Note collection (appx. 10 minutes)
- Activity 4: Career-Focused Video (appx. 20 minutes)
- Interview Reflection due mm/dd/yyyy (appx. 20 minutes)
- Activity 5: Self-Assessment (appx. 25 minutes)
- Fist to Five and essay question due mm/dd/yyyy
