Moving an Unpublished Resource From the Old LEARN to New LEARN

Want to move content from your old LEARN account to your new one? If you are a current LEARN user, and you have authored unpublished lessons you would like to move over to the new site, you can do so using the Legacy link tool.

  1. Locate the lesson you wish to move, by visiting https://learn-legacy.k20center.ou.edu and going to your MY LEARN page. You’ll need to be logged in to get there.

  2. Then, in a new tab, open the new LEARN at learn.k20 center.ou.edu. If you haven’t created an account, you’ll need to do so to log in.

  3. On your My LEARN page in new LEARN, find the “LEGACY” tab.

  4. Copy the URL for the lesson from old LEARN, and then paste this URL into the “import” field on the “LEGACY” tab in new LEARN.

  5. Click the “import” button.

  6. You should see the lesson appear in the Legacy Queue. Look at the title to verify that it’s the resource you intended to move over.

  7. Click the magnifying glass icon in the “Actions” field to inspect your lesson. This will launch the editing interface.

  8. While inspecting the lesson, be sure to:
    • Review the content. You don’t need to edit line by line, but it’s important to check the entire page for blank fields and missing attachments. You may need to manually copy and paste this information from the legacy link’s page. If you do make edits, use the “Save” button at the top of the page to save your progress as you work.

    • Once you’ve checked the content, move to the “Meta” tab at the top of the page. Again, scroll the full length of the page. Make sure the information listed here is present and correct.

    • Pay special attention to the “Standards” section about halfway down the page. If you see lesson standards listed as “Legacy Standards,” you will need to manually reapply those standards. Standards listed under “Legacy Standards” won’t appear in the final version of the lesson. (You can check this with the “Preview” button at the top).

    • Check on the “Collaborators” and “External Authors” sections at the bottom of the page. Add any collaborators who have a LEARN account here. Add external authors—who may have supplied ideas or activities for the lesson, but don’t have a LEARN account—by manually typing in their first and last names in the “External Authors” section. Note: Collaborators will have editing privileges on your lesson and they will see this lesson in the “COLLABORATIONS” on their MY LEARN page. External authors will not have editing privileges.

  9. When finished, click Save and then click Exit.

  10. Check to make sure that your lesson has moved from the “LEGACY” tab into your “MY RESOURCES” tab.
    • If it hasn’t moved yet, go to “Edit” your lesson and then hit “Save” and “Close” again.
