Summary
Perplexity AI is an artificial intelligence-powered answer engine that cites its sources as it is used. While all AI powered search engines generate information when prompted, Perplexity takes it a step further by providing sources for the information it gathers. In addition to gathering text, Perplexity also gathers images related to a given prompt.
Procedure
Navigate to https://www.perplexity.ai/
In the box where it says “Ask anything…,” type your question or prompt. This may be a general question or you can ask the answer-generator to do things such as “summarize this article,” “create a quiz for this video,” etc. Make sure your prompt is as specific as possible to ensure accurate results.
Select the blue arrow in the bottom right corner of the prompt box.
The answer-generator will compose some information relating to your prompt. It will also list the sources used to gather the information along with images relating to the topic at the top of the thread.
When the answer-generator has finished, read through the information provided. If further information is needed or you need to refine the information, you may further prompt the answer-generator.
Perplexity is currently free but offers “Pro” features for additional costs.
