Summary

Science Journal for Kids and Teens features hundreds of current scientific research articles written to engage students. Filter by keys, reading level, science topic, NGSS standards, and additional language options. To help students build their science reading skills, each article is formatted as a scientific paper with an abstract, introduction, methodology, findings, and discussion. Key terms are bolded and defined in a glossary. Important points in each section are highlighted. Each article includes questions to check for understanding. Teacher keys are included as well as lesson resources to aid in classroom delivery.

Procedure

  1. Go to sciencejournalforkids.org.

  2. Browse articles on the home page or navigate to the Search or Filter Articles box. Search a term of your choice or filter by key word, reading level, topic, or standard to find a selection of scientific articles.

  3. Select the title of an article to view it.

  4. Go to the Downloads section and select “Article” to download the article.

  5. Select “Teacher’s key” and register an account to download teachers’ keys.
