Summary
According to Marzano (2001), the use of graphic organizers, in general, is an instructional strategy that provides opportunities for students to analyze and summarize key information and yields higher student achievement results. The PERSIA graphic organizer provides students with categories in which to identify key information about countries, regions, provinces, or principalities. This graphic organizer also adds guiding questions for student inquiry.
Procedure
Pass out the PERSIA graphic organizer to students.
Read aloud the directions.
Read aloud the guiding questions in each category.
Ask students to explain or restate the guiding questions.
Provide reliable research sources for students to complete the graphic organizer.
