Vision Boards

Learners illustrate their personal goals by creating a board they can use to keep them motivated and focused.

Vision Boards

Summary

A vision board is a collage of images, words, and short phrases that illustrate a person's goals and vision of their future. By creating vision boards, learners think about their future plans and create goals to achieve those plans. The vision boards are displayed where the learner can see their board often, so they can stay focused and reminded of the goals they have set for themselves.

Procedure

  1. Have learners brainstorm and think of several goals they want to set for a determined time period.

  2. Provide learners with a poster board or a piece of letter-sized paper/cardstock and craft supplies such as stickers, glue, and magazines.

  3. Provide time for learners to illustrate their goals on the poster board using craft supplies.

  4. Encourage learners to display their vision board in class or at home and refer back to it when thinking of their goals.

Optional Digital Variation: Learners can create digital vision boards using a technology tool such as Canva or Google Slides.
