Geoboard

Summary

Geoboard uses virtual rubber bands and a geoboard to help students explore shapes, symmetry, congruence, perimeter, area, angles, and more. This app is great for elementary classrooms but may also be used for other learning environments.

Procedure

  1. Go to the Geoboard’s web app.

  2. To choose the board size and shape, use the buttons along the blue toolbar at the bottom of the screen.

  3. Select a rubber band and drag it onto the geoboard. The band will attach to two

    pegs.

  4. To create various shapes and sizes, drag the rubber band to other pegs.

  5. You may explore other tools for more features. For instance:

    1. The pencil tool allows you to add lines and drawings on the board.

    2. The copy function allows you to duplicate shapes.

    3. The calculator allows you to perform simple mathematical operations while exploring shapes.

  6. Select the “i” button on the toolbar for more information on the board’s functions.
