SORT (System for Organizing Randomized Teams)
Summary
SORT is a web application that educators and presenters can use to quickly divide their class or audience into groups. All you need to do is enter the number of groups you will need and press a button. This will create a QR code and link that participants can scan or navigate to, which will automatically assign them to a group. If you want, you can even customize the groups by specifying group names and colors.
Procedure
Go to sort.k20center.ou.edu/.
Enter the number of groups you want. Optionally, you can customize the group names and colors by selecting “Custom Options.”
Select the “SORT” button.
Have your learners scan the generated QR code or navigate to the provided URL.
Now learners are automatically assigned groups and shown a colorful card with their group name on it. Have them use this to find other members of their group.
Use the “Save SORT for Later” button to copy the URL to later share the webpage with the QR code and link for learners. Use the “Restart” button if you would like to regroup learners.
